I already posted it in the "Tournaments and Matches" board, which I think is more appropriate, but since you've done it yourself (kind of more legit), I would ask if a moderator could kindly delete this thread, to avoid confusion.

I see your point, but I thought, we would get more attention by posting on the general board.

In some way the topic should be considered of general interest, for 2 good reasons:
1) It does not happen every day that a sponsor offers $ 20'000 USD for a computer chess event.
2) The mix of pure engine chess and freestyle chess is still unique and rare.

So I prefer to keep the announcement here, but start discussions on the "Tournaments..." board.

Not to worry, I was able to delete the thread. The time for editing the post had not expired, and it had no replies, so gone with the wind.

Arno, if I understand correctly, even ALL players who finish all games of the tournament in a clean manner get $100? :D

This is what the rules say:
(2) Participants staying in tour until the end and playing all games in a fair way, which includes not to forfeit any game, will receive a fair play bonus of 100 USD. Players using someone else hardware by remote are excluded from this bonus, as on principle all players shall be encouraged to use their own hardware even if it might be weaker than other players hardware.
Pretty clear, I'd say.

+1 on the OS X request. It's been promised forever.

This one I can answer, you need to install the client software, connect to the server and register there. You'll be asked for your personal information, if this is your first tournament with prizes.
