GNUChess 6.2.4 TM under Arena and WB-2 protocol

Hello,

it seems that GNUChess 6.2.4 TM http://tmokonen.net84.net/gnuchess-6.2.4TM.rar executes no moves
under Arena www.playwitharena.com in a 40/2 TC round robin tournament, but works normally under UCI-mode with commandline-parameter -u.

I used GNUChess03.exe-file.

Antonio Ceballos, a Linux-user, wants surely to know if a Mac OS X compile of the source code http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/chess/gnuchess-6.2.4.tar.gz runs under Arena http://www.playwitharena.com/?Download in combination with Wine https://www.winehq.org/download only via UCI-protocol (including -u commandline-parameter) or as normal WB-2 engine too.

Perhaps anyone of you can build GNUChess 6.2.4 for Macintosh and tell Antonio the result of his investigations.

I compiled it (check pm) It works just fine in XBoard on OSX in Xboard mode and UCI. Don't know about arena. If not, it's Arena's fault.

I do'tknow about the latest version, but older versions of GNU Chess were not really WB engines (i.e. they did not comply with the CECP specs). WinBoard / XBoard has a large tolerace built in for this non-compliance, however, and GNU Chess works on it because of that.
