SF8- 3297
K10.2-3264
H5-3247
Far beyond stockfish, Oops.
But it is saying now
Houdini-SF 8- +10 -16

So SF8 is crushing it!
+10 -16 was 38%
Now is 40,7%
But indeed I think Stockfish is stronger

That's unexpected, if the number increases further I will have to make an update to add a bit more security in the time management.

As for the "200 Elo" improvement claim, that's a measure in the best case scenario (self-play with 1 thread at super-fast TC).

It's rather difficult to produce a meaningful estimate of the Elo difference when the test conditions can vary immensely (TC, opponents, number of threads). In the TCEC chat I've always been reluctant to quote a value, it just doesn't mean a lot. Then again, the first thing people always ask is "how many Elo stronger" :D.

If the measured results by the rating lists are too different from the "marketing" 200 Elo value, I'll definitely update the web page; maybe 150 Elo is more accurate in a real situation against many opponents at normal time controls.

Thank you all for your support,
Robert

OTH it overperforms against Komodo 10.2!

Code: Select all

Houdini 5 - Komodo 10.2 (3264) 25.0	-	16.0 60.98% Perf=3341

Seeing similar result vs K10.2 at micro TC 15 /0.25 ...this is running H5 32bit under wine on macOS.

Not unless you guys are using Arena GUI which can be very buggy and cause not just Houdini to lose on time, but many other engines as well...

fritz 14 GUI

I test more see how it goes but a little more time management
Security would be good Komodo has a setting to compensate,
I think not that I needed it.
