This is the little tool I have created:
http://www.pkoziol.cal24.pl/rodent/tuner.htm
Manual explaining the meanings of options can be found at
https://github.com/nescitus/Rodent_II/b ... manual.pdf
So far I have created the following weakened personalities (all available on GitHub and in the download package bundle)
Amy Weak, aggressive, slow (A 200 M 200)
Andy Weak, attacking (A 150), decent for its strength range
Ben Weak, balanced, relatively precise for strength range
Chris Weak, classical, restraining
Dory Weak, defensive
Frank Weak, rushes forward
Nora Weak, likes knights
Pam Weak, overvalues pawns
Rita Weak, overvalues rooks
Stan Weak, likes to simplify
Sue Weak, likes to sacrifice
Mark Club player, defensive, likes own mobility, 1500 Elo
Sam Club player, sacrificial attacker, 1500 Elo
Arthur Attacker who likes to restrain enemy movement 1900 Elo
Dorothy defense, restraint, contempt, classical style 2000+ Elo
Frederick Likes thrusting pieces forward, but starts with flank openings 1950 Elo
Gabriel Gambit player, aggressive, 2000+
Matthew Materialist 1950
Patrick Attacker, but cares for pawn structure 2000
Theresa Likes sacrificing for positional factors, plays unusual openings, doesn't like to attack, 2100
Nancy Attacker who likes closed positions, 2300
Victor Attacker who likes gambits, 2250
Drunk Very hazy evaluation, but good at calculation
Henny Personality by Brendan J. Norman. Insane attacker 2400
Remy Personality by Brendan J. Norman. Insane attacker 2480
KingHunter Personality by Ferdinand Mosca, mad attacker
Tortoise Slow defensive player who likes low positions GM
And here are grandmaster personalities:
Anand Fast player, slight preference for attack, cares for pawn structure
Anderssen Attacking old-timer, underestimates positional factors
Botvinnik balanced, cares for pawn structure, somewhat willing to accept doubled pawns, classical piece/square tables
Fischer attacking, contemptous, mobility raised for both sides
Larsen tricky player following precepts of Nimzowitsch plays varied and unusual openings, may want to sacrifice, even though king attacks aren't his chief interest
Marshall very high attack, very high mobility, sacrificial, likes knights
Nimzowitsch likes keeping position closed, dislikes bishops, high positional factors
Petrosian defense, restraint, likes closed positions, likes sacrificing exchange
Reti disregards classical piece placement, solid pawn structure, raised positional factors
Rubinstein classical player, marginally prefers defence, decreased mobility, likes rook play, steers towards endgame
Spassky defensive player who likes grabbing space and cares for pawn structure
Steintz defensive, accepts cramped positions, accepts sacrifices, solid with pawns
Tarrasch mobility, emphasis on bishops, likes open game
I also have a few GM strength personalities for which I have yet to find a suitable name. There is a mildly defensive personality, scoring in top three in my tests, which will probably become Kramnik. But what about a modern grandmaster who emphasizes attack and mobility? Who would be attacking twin of Nimzowitsch? How to emulate Karpov?
Comments, requests, ideas and, above all, readymade personalities, are welcome! I promise to include them on the GitHub site and in the next release (personality options will not change).
