How hard would it be to port to FreePascal?
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

I think it should be easy. I mostly use my own routines. Only problem could be - IO procedures with console.

I am currently evaluating the latest Booot engine which I downloaded a few days ago.
It appears a lot stronger than the previous version that I have (v5.2)
It scored 15/20 in a 20 game match against v5.2.
It did make a big blunder however against Chessmaster 10 yesterday.
The game was played in the Chessmaster GUI and Booot 6.1 was using the polyglot adapter since Chessmaster only supports Winboard engines.
The game was 40 moves in 4 minutes repeating, OS was 32bit WinXP, cpu AMD64 with Arena speedtest mark of 15.04
Booot was not in any time trouble and in the position below played 28...Qxa2??
It very quickly lost after White's reply.
[d]1r2r1k1/5p1p/3p2pB/p3b3/2P5/5Q1P/Pq3PP1/3RR1K1 b - - 0 28
I analysed the position using Booot 6.1 as UCI engine in Arena on a slightly slower computer and Booot took 15 seconds to fully reject the Qxa2 move as best move.
Full game is below.

Did you try to import it to Lazarus (the free version of Delphi) ?
