Do we have new numbers for Snapdragon 845 and Kirin 970 cpu's ?

More interesting is the Exynos 9810 version of Samsung S9 rather than the Snapdragon 845 one. The Exynos is a much wider architecture 6 wide similar to latest iPhone CPUs. The width of the SD845 is just 4 I think.

I had the exynos in my Samsung s9. No progress.

What does that mean? No progress over Samsung s8 ?

That seems impossible. According to Geekbench, the s9 exynos integer computation speed is significantly greater from the s8 snapdragon variant. And in every phone, the integer computation speed was highly correlated with the droidfish or stockfish kn/s.

Sorry to say but the results were around 4111 after 2‘ .
That’s on the level of a good cooled sd835 (e.g. nokia8 4239).
This is of course higher then the s8+ (3251) result but not higher then the best sd835 result.

Antutu value nevertheless was high, 245694 but as we all know this has nothing to do with chess, we measure the chess usage, not graphical support.

One point against good benchmark is the tendency for full glass water resistant corpus.

Both features are contraproductive for speed because cooling of metal body corpus without water resistance is better.

Ok so that makes sense. The result was better than s8+ but not the best 835 result. And the latter has something with the cooling. I wonder what is the s9+ snapdragon results are?

Articles claim S9+ multi-core performance is + one third or 33% better than S8+

Articles does not test chess benchmark so it can be lower.

And we do not know yet if the sd845 is better for chess then the 835 was,
E.g. in the very good cooled nokia8 (copper heat pipe + metal backside used as a cooler!!) because the
Sd 835 was an 8 Core cpu while the Sd 845 is a 4 core cpu !!!

If we are unlucky the 4 cores are faster then 4 cores 835 but overall slower then 8 cores of 835.

Seems we do not make real progress in the moment.

If it is an 8 core cpu and they haven’t heating issues it could be faster than the 835 for chess.
We will see.
I do wait.
I just bought a new lg v20 from 2016 because of the hi res audio quad dac
