Thx for testing.

Now we know that the new Snapdragon 835 is fast.

But it is also a very expensive toy.

What about a device with the new mittleclass chip Snapdragon 660?

Maybe performance and price have here a better relationship.

Did you know a device with the Snapdragon 660?

Beside the mainstream the Sony xz premium is not that expensive,
If you don't buy it in a regular shop but on the internet.
Reason is the people all go for Samsung s8 and lg g6.

I have another interesting benchmark:
I do measure the max speed of mchess8 emulated in android magic dos box.

MCP8
Intel Atom netbook Medion E1210 70.000 NPS
Via 500 MHz PC 60.000 NPS
Sony Xperia XZ Premium 17.000 NPS
Huawei P10+ EMU 15.000 NPS
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 EMU 7.500 NPS
Doogee Mix EMU 4.500 NPS
LG g6 EMU 3.750 NPS
Ulefone Tiger EMU 2.000 NPS

Benchmark droidfish :
Apple iPad Pro 10.5 4224
Sony Xperia xz premium 3339
Samsung s8+ (exynos) 3251
Huawei p10+ 3201
Samsung s7 Edge (exynos) 3036
Apple iPad Pro 2480
Sony Xperia c5 ultra 2222
Xiaomi mi max2 2222
Doogee Mix 1932
Lg 5 1409
Lg 6 1151

Lg g6 is worse then lg g5 !! I guess it could be heating
Issues. G6 is water protected in glass while g5 was Metal.
Also lg has maybe no intention to get driven into another "bootloop"
Scandal.

I do have so far no snapdragon 660 device.
The Xiaomi mi Max2 has only 625.
Nevertheless for chess 2222 is a good middle class value.
And it has Stereo loudspeakers and 6.44" screen. Big chess board :-)

When I see a 660 mobile I do benchmark it Thomas.
One candidate could be oppo r11.

Is 512 Mb hash per engine maximum for S8+ 4GB?

OS consume 1.5 GB without anything running in the background.

Wondering how the US bound Galaxy Note 8 with 6 GB of team will perform? Also, how does the snapdragon Galaxy S8 plus perform? Also, is it true that the Exynos version in these phones throttles much faster than their snapdragon counterparts?

Would be interesting if the Huawei Mate 10 could beat the latest iPad Pro result.

What's sad is that the iPad Pro, iPhone 8(plus), and iPhone X are excellent for chess. But the chess apps aren't as good as for android. It's the only reason why I bought an iPad Pro 10.5. Otherwise, I would have gotten the Samsung tablet.

Droidfish for android has the latest Stockfish with multiple arrow analysis tools. Also Komodo can be bought and installed too.

I'm wishing for a Komodo for iOS, with the multiple arrow analysis options that Droidfish has.

Hopefully Stockfish for iOS can be updated soon with the latest Stockfish and with the multiple arrow feature.

Anyone with any news?
