Well, not as long as there are new devices or I have some new ideas. ;)

BTW, here are slightly improved artworks for Chess-Master CM and Diamond with an optical feedback when clicking on the function buttons:

'Zippyshare' unsafe?
Well, I'd say: not more (or even less) unsafe than Windows 10 itself!

Graham : I have downloaded the Mephisto chess engines you provided onto my laptop but don't know how to install them onto my Rybka 4 chess program.
Can you help? Thanks Allan

Hi,

here's a new full CB-Emu version 7:
http://www20.zippyshare.com/v/H9vr5XyV/file.html

Although MESS doesn't allow hot-swapping external modules (cartridges), I've found a clever solution for this problem, so now you can also switch ON/OFF or change the 2 extra modules PM10/PM11 of the Chess-Master Diamond during a game (2 new LED-buttons above the display).
This must be done exactly as in the real device, so you should read the few lines about the Diamond in my short description 'Info_Others.txt'.

With this new feature the 2 separate Diamond versions are no longer needed, so I've removed those files. And I've also made a few other minor improvements, e.g. extra border pieces also for the normal Chess-Master CM and a control-LED for those pieces, etc...

Regards,
Franz

Hi,

here's a complete new CB-Emu version:
http://www99.zippyshare.com/v/Flc9wFOY/file.html

New Fidelity modules:
- Excellence (Original)
- Chesster
- Elite A/S (Budapest & Glasgow)
- Elite Avantgarde 2100
- Playmatic S
- Designer 2000

Includes also a few improvements for the Chess-Master Diamond
(e.g. blinking "C" while the computer is thinking)

For these new modules (especially for the magnetic sensory boards Elite A/S & EAG 2100)
it would really be a good idea to have a look at the short descriptions in the file 'Info_Fidelity.txt'!

Regards,
Franz

Big thanks!

We live in amazing times :)

While I have several (many?) of these beauties, the ability to bring up and play against classics like the Elite V11 is quite the thrill.

Again, thank you for sharing.

Just noticed this. Do you mean me?
I've not tried to use any of them under a Fritz GUI.

Hi,

in addition to my program CB-Emu (a very realistic emulation of more than 150 old chess computers) there's now a new package
MESS-Chess_UCI+WB available on my website:
https://fhub.jimdo.com/

One of the MAME developers (Sandro Ronco) wrote a chess plugin, which allows to use those emulations of old chess computers
as UCI or WB engines in any UCI/WB chess GUI.
I've modified the main program 'mess.exe' a bit, added a few more plugins and put everthing that is necessary into a complete package.
I've even included a minimal Arena and WinBoard system, so you can use this package 'out of the box' without any further installation
(only for Arena you have to run the included 'INSTALL.bat' to import the engine list into the registry).

Regards,
Franz
