DisasterArea-1.65 released

Post by Jochen Peussner »

I just released a new version of my engine DisasterArea. It can be downloaded at https://sites.google.com/site/disasterareachess
I had to create a new (very basic) website, because the old one no longer supports downloads of zip-files. Hopefully the new site works well.

main changes in 1.65:
- improved SMP (more nps, less bugs), DA runs stable now on 8 cores
- support for Syzygy-EGTBs
- more effective singular extensions
- "correct" SEE now considers pins and promotions

other changes:
- implemented material-hashtable
- improved attack-scaling
- perft is now usable (positions were hardcoded before)
- optional ini-file possible (may be usefull under some tools)

Expected ELO-increase is around 50.

Hi Gabor, I feared something like this. There should be a frame DisasterArea-Release with a zip-file DA-1.65 in it. Is this visible?

You have to change the permissions. Currently there is a frame,
which is only accessible if one has an invitation account.
Probably a lot of people send you requests for invitations now,
which wasn't your intention, I guess.

Thanks, I will check it at once. I thought, it would be free for all.

There should be a scroll-button on the right side, please move it down.
The zip-file was free for all, but not the directory. Could be fixed now...

Now it works. Permissions obviously set now.
It looks a bit clumsy though to have an i-frame just for a download
from another site.
Does GoogleSites really prevent zip links now, or what is the problem?
(could be renamed to anything else too probably - those restrictions
are mostly implemented very stupid)

Hi Guenther,
I set the zip-file permissions free for all, but not the permissions for da-release. Yes, it looks strange, it was my first try with google-sites and google-drive. There is sure a better solution possible.
My old website were at jimdo.com, they restricted their download-types now
for free pages.

Thanks for your reply, I really didn't want to work on invitation requests :D

Hmmm, I see now your previous site wasn't at GoogleSites but JimDo.
I see no reason then for not just adding a normal link w/o frame, except
it is forbidden somehow?

Download : DA-165

edit: this is with special tags from the forum software

in plain html it is just:
<a href=LINK>TEXT</a>

Guenther

P.S. Thanks for the release I see it is nearly 2 years since the last one!
