Thanks. Beating Jonny in the long playoff match was a pleasant surprise, in view of the 50 to 1 processor advantage they had. Shredder did very well to finish a close third, I think we can expect the next Shredder to be in the top five or so on the rating lists.

Larry and Mark,

Congratulations to your team on Komodo's victory! Did you enter the publicly released Komodo 10, or a newer but not yet released version of Komodo? Thanks.

Due to a misunderatanding it was set to 15 at first, but this was changed to zero for the remaining games.

Was it more exciting for you than a TCEC final ? :)
I think Jonny was a real challenge here.

Well, of course a rapid playoff is more exciting than 5 hour games, and yes, Jonny was an even match for Komodo with the benefit of the 50 to one core handicap. Of course TCEC is much better for determining which engine is strongest, due to equal hardware, reversed openings, and huge number of rounds. Both formats have a right to exist.

If Jonny keeps improving and playing with this core advantage, will Komodo stay able to defeat it ?

Perhaps Komodo should play with many more cores too when hardware is important.
