Tried clearing the book options in Engine Properties, still crashes. The other two 32-bit builds included in the download are not recognized as valid execs by WinXP..

On the 12-core/48 GB Xeon box (Win 7 Pro x64, F15 GUI) I tried all the x64 builds except the AVX one (not compatible with my system). Every one loaded locked into 1 CPU core (i.e. can't change the number of threads), the time counter window is the only one that works, all other windows remain blank. After a few seconds - an exception error from the GUI.

Conclusion: at this stage SmarThink v1.80 is not usable.
SmarThink never been multi-core.
I will try to make VC compile for XP...

SmarThink_v170_x64_intel_SSE3 works on my system but not 180.

Hello Sergei,

my essential hard-/software is:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.20GHz - Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology
RAM 4,00GB Dual Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz
Motherboard ASRock H61M-DGS R2.0 (CPUSocket)
Graphics JT198x4-3 (1280x1024@60Hz) - Intel HD Graphics (ASRock)

v1.50x64 requires MSVCR100.dll - after installation into same folder it is o.k.
v1.50x64 SSE3 requires MSVCR100.dll including svml_dispmd.dll - after installation into same folder appears an error message by Windows: Application could not be executed (0xc000007b). Click on "ok" to close the application.

v1.80x64 respectively v1.80 x64 SSE3 requires libiomp5md.dll - after installation into same folder it is o.k.

Smarthink win32 causes no problems and run normally.
(I have Windows 7 32-bit too)

Conclusion: add MSVCR100.dll x64 http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-f ... l?msvcr100 to the compressed 1.50 edition,
and delete the executable file 1.50x64 SSE3, please.

The SmarThink 1.80 package contains no libiomp5md.dll x64
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-f ... libiomp5md

I have tried out two different svml_dispmd.dlls on the website http://www.filewatcher.com/_/?q=svml_dispmd.dll - both without success.

Your further v1.40x64 edition shows an identical behaviour like the mentioned above Smarthink v1.50x64.

Best wishes,
Norbert

Smart Think has very interesting playing style, I am sorry that it doesn´t support more than 1 CPU.

At that time there were three executables (two of them 64 bit and one 32 bit), but right now 64 bit standalone version is working well.

A great chess engine which is approaching the gates of my +3000 Elo division and it's a one core monster still yet....
