The TWO engines kept ,,secret'' for TCEC season 9
Which 2 of these engines do you think they have the biggest chance to enter the TCEC Season 9? Deep Fritz 15, Houdini 5, Gull, Equinox, Critter 2, Naum 5, Chiron 3, Thinker, Strelka, Rondo ( Zappa ), Cryptic, Synapse, Deep Sjeng, Bouquet, BlackMamba or other engines. Note that Shredder and Hiarcs were already announced to return into the competition. Best regards!

Out of the choices you've given, I'd go for Chiron and Naum.FriedmannC wrote:Which 2 of these engines do you think they have the biggest chance to enter the TCEC Season 9? Deep Fritz 15 could still be a native Chessbase engine. That coupled with the fact that Chessbase and Chessdom are direct competitors makes its participation seem unlikely.

Crafty for sure. Crafty has always liked big hardware, so it will not be easy to beat either.
Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first
place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you
are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.

not 'inviting' fritz 15 runs the risk of delegitimizing the tournament imo. if it can fight with any engine on the planet it should get a shot, if it doesn't work with the current system you change the system to accommodate it.

You could be right, but honestly, I would really really want to see Houdini coming back! Can't just believe Houdart ran out of ideas or surrendered in front of Komodo and Stockfish!

Perhaps it should be chessbasse who change their policy,
Fritz should be UCI_winboard engine.,
It is something that all users who pay the program requested.
The possibility of using it outside of its own GUI.
There is the possibility that other engines without Protocol UCI_Winboard could participate... not chessbasse.....would be a chaos for the live stream.

Graham, do you know by chance under what name does Cryptic play in the engine room? I'd like to see some games of the latest version Thanks!
