This link was brought to my attention.
If it is genuine, I am just sharing information, not trying to break the commercial exhortation rule.

Yes it is true. What is not clear is if it is a new version of 'Rybka' combined with the new GUI or if people are going to buy R4 again with GUI 15.

This, of course, being the interesting bit:
"The Fritz15 engine developed by Star-author Vas Rajlich, who with his Rybka programs set new standards as far as the world's best"

If Vas wrote it, then it does not seem like Fritz to me. Fritz is by Frans Morsch.

But then again, I guess 14 was written by Gyula Horváth.

I think it's fair to say Fritz is really a trademark of Chessbase. We've had multiple different engines given the name Fritz which were not written by Frans e.g. Fritz 14 / Padix and Pocket Fritz / Hiarcs.

Also Frans' engine was called Quest "back in the day",

I can already imagine the flame wars.
Functional programming combines the flexibility and power of abstract mathematics with the intuitive clarity of abstract mathematics.

Thanks Harvey.

I doubt that Chessbase would be foolish enough to just repackage Rybka 4, as they already sell Rybka 4 as a separate product.

Should be interesting.

They force people to buy the same GUI several times with different engines so why not do it in reverse!? Although I hope you are right!
