I don't think that improvements in computer chess makes it more attractive. The 'better' they play the less understandable. Perhaps it's like watching a science fiction movie you don't understand at all. Computer Chess gets more and more dehumanized.

I think it will still be quite some time before they achieve the positional understanding of a 2800 chess champion.

Maybe they 'never' do for it's all tactics that count nowadays.
