Yes great article. A few years back I looked at the moves of DB with the newer chess engines, and already it was clear that DB would stand no chance. A few years later with much better software and dramatically faster hardware this fact is even more so.

I am not exactly sure what the point here is. Deep Blue is 20 years old. Who knows what it would be today had its development continued? You should test some 1995-era software programs against today's. It would be FAR uglier. The SAME thing will happen in 2035 when someone compares the software of the day against the incredibly weak offerings of 2015. In 1996-1997 there was absolutely nothing that could touch DB.

its not really making a point, its just an article of interest (or not, as the case may be).
