Butcher 164

Post by Charly »

Hi,

I'm trying to launch Butcher 164 installed as WB engine under Arena 3.5, with the command line parameters -ht 32 -par 1, but the engine hangs when out of the GUI book (HS10moves.abk). I red the author's site for the command line parameters, but it's not clear.
I use Windows 7 64, on an Intel I5, and my version of butcher is in theory compliant with 64bit.

Does someone can give me infos to launch this version ?

I tried with an old version, Butcher 158, and it runs without problem.

I think the problem is due to my bad command line parameter.

Try with -ht 128....

works fine here under Windows 7 x64 regards,

Hi,

First of all, I wish to thank Dr. Wael Deeb and you, Gabor, for the quick and helpfull response.

I made a mix of your two tips and used this engine line command (I knew I made a mistake also with the -par command...)

-ht 128 -par Butcher2CPU 2

Well, it runs perfectly. Now, Butcher 1.64 x64 runs perfectly as a winboard engine under Arena 3.5 !

My test tournament with all the B engines is now ablet to start.

Many thanks !
