Thanks Marco.

I am sure I will be one of the persons that will profit most from SF 5.

Thanks Stockfish team !

Surprisingly, I got a warning from Chrome saying the file could be dangerous because it is not downloaded very often. But I'm sure that will change !

After unzipping stockfish-5-linux.zip, I found that the two files in stockfish-5-linux/Linux/ did not have their executable bits set. From within that directory, an invocation of

Code: Select all

chmod 755 *
will set those bits, and allow the Stockfish binaries to run. Just a heads up.

Oops! In my haste I zipped it in my Windows virtual machine instead of the Linux one. Sorry about that!

(I think the same thing applies to the Mac binaries, you'll need to chmod 755.)

will the exact version that won tech be made available with syzygy?
You can grab it, as well as any dev version, on abrok.eu:

with or without syzygy, take your pick!

You can also sompile SF syzygy yourself, from Ronald's github repo:

Thx a lot.

But why you didnt give this version the name stockfish 5?

In Arena-gui 3.5 i read the name is Stockfish_14053109_x64_modern.

In the age of Apple this is very stylish.
