From several days in Chess2U forum are published, by a moderator, individual matches of an alleged new chess engine.
It is reality or just a "joke"?
Look with your eyes ..

I also thought it was only a joke, but why hide a engine (that I believe is Stockfish) and keep going day after day with such a farce
:?: :!:

Unfortunately, only those who are registered can discover the secret ....
It is a. Exe called "ChessCombiV1" that combines engines Stockfish + Houdini in a one engine only....
Really a "great combination"!

If it's a commercial version of Houdini, then releasing it is illegal...

I do not know if it's illegal, but configuring everything as described is this:

loaded the engine it works perfectly, but it seems most stockfish than houdini ...ImageImage

Oh, if the exe doesn't include the engines then it's perfectly legal of course ! :)

This idea of using two engines as one by selecting moves of one or another following i don't know which algorithm was in my long term list of ideas. Of course the algorithm can be optimized also by tests. I'm happy someone has done it.

I think it was the subject of Stefan Meyer-Kahlen's master's thesis (yes, in the 90's)! It was later added to Shredder GUI under the name "triple brain" (two engines + referee).
