I see a margin of one and a half points on the final chart. Why are you trying to make Komodo look bad by saying it only won by one point? :)

Larry
Considering that Komodo lost very early on against Critter in a bad book line, it is indeed a remarkable achievement with so many strong engines!

Don post was premature, because houdini last game was not even started.
The correct was to say: komodo wins for at least 1 point.

Yes, we won by a margin of 1.5 points!
Capital punishment would be more effective as a preventive measure if it were administered prior to the crime.

Komodo on fire! Everybody out of the way! I propose a namechange. How about a special version, that has tablebases maybe and Don could call it 'nTCEC Rex' or 'Tablebase Rex' or more simply 'Rex'.
I like the T Rex Fire pic. It looks tough.

I can't deny it's cool but when I saw it I was at work and I was tired and hungry after a looong night shift so it reminded me more of a roasted chicken than the chess playing entity Komodo

A feeding frenzy for the big lizard! Nice one.

(Larry, at the time of the post Houdini and Stockfish hadn't yet played their last round game so there was still a chance the winning margin would be only one full point.

Here are my general predictions (simulations) for the Stage 4 and the Superfinal with a draw model:

STAGE 4

To qualify for the Superfinal:

Code: Select all

Komodo 75%
Houdini 62%
SF 48%
Bouquet 9%
Gull 5%
Naum 0%
At least one outside top 3 qualifies for the Superfinal:

Code: Select all

14%

SUPERFINAL

To win the Superfinal:

Code: Select all

Komodo 54%
Houdini 30%
SF 15%
Bouquet 1%
Gull 0%
Naum 0%
If Komodo qualifies to the Superfinal, its adversary will be:

Code: Select all

Houdini 53%
SF 37%
Bouquet 6%
Gull 4%
Naum 0%
