Arena - the eternal question.

Post by Mithu »

After a long wait I am yet to see a newer version of this fantastic Chess GUI. From what I see there was a problem with the Author claiming that his GUI was published and plagiarized without a formal permission.

Its almost 3-4 years now... Isn't that too long to carry anger?

Dear Arena Programmers - your GUI was a torch bearer and you have set a great example. Please let bygones be bygones - Life is too short to be spent worrying.

I think the Arena project should be considered dead. But fortunutely there is WinBoard, so who needs it!

And on Linux or OSX, where Arena leaves you out in the cold to start with, there is of course XBoard:

The fact you call it 'eternal' shows you already assume it is never going to be released!

The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated (Mark Twain)

But even a dead Arena is better than Winboard
Still not pssible to analyze simultaniously with 8 engines in Winboard?
