Can it be used outside it's own GUI as a UCI engine :!: :?:

Why? The colors are perfect. You can also use these colors to test your headaches.

[ edit: could be that the brightness setting of my laptop has the wrong value]

Hello Doc !

YChess 1.0 is a native engine, but on its GUI every UCI and WB chess engine works without any problem !

Best to you !

Norbert Raimund Leisner wrote:Hello together,

the old chess program including engine YChess 1.0 was sold for 19 $ by Kagi https://www.kagi.com/index.php

Kagi Support <support@kagi.com> wrote to me yesterday :
We here at Kagi no longer process payments for this supplier -Mitchell

was the former website, now this domain http://www.ychess.com is for sale

Unfortunately, the author cannot be contacted directly to get this software.

Does anybody of you know another possibility how YChess 1.0 for Windows can be obtained? The download of the trial version from the page http://web.archive.org/web/200404162355 ... ychess.com seems to be o.k.

Best wishes,
Norbert
Hi Norbert,

There's also this link I found:
http://archive.org/details/YChess_1020

Is v1.0 a newer version than this? I wish I knew about it earlier :x

A superb engine and GUI coming from Austria: YChess 1.0 !
This old chess application must be saved for eternity.
Of course, by the true chess lovers !
Below are two captures from its first game - on this evening - versus Lime 66 off Herr Richard Albert ! An easy and spectacular victory !

SilvianR
Must be saved, but how, if it was discontinued? :)

Hello Carl !

The life of Tutankhamon was discontinued many years ago ( ). But near everybody knows about. A chess application life has a lot of more possibilities. Even the old Ruxy has near the full history of computer chess. FULLY FUNCTIONAL !

Discontinued ? It's this a problem for the human kind ?

Fully functional regards,
SilvianR
Yes, indeed, long live the king! ;) ;)

I have to say this little known engine has a wonderful style of play. 8-)
