The re-compiled Win64 binaries are ready.

It's not possible anymore to build a universal executable that will be
fast on all architectures so I have versions for AMD (old athlons) and INTEL (modern machines).

There are four executables included. Three are new, the fourth is the original AMD non-popcnt version I posted earlier.

Thanks Wolfgang,
but this dll does not help :-(
Now I get another error message (0xc000007b - the engine could not be started correctly).
I´ll try the new compiles - at the Moment I use the files from abrok.eu

I only tested the 64bit-pop versions and there the Version you called INTEL is fastest on i5, AMD-Phenom-2 and AMD-8350. The term AMD on the other POP compile is a bit missleading as the INTEL is fastest on everything you can buy nowaday. It will confuse the normal user who downloads this in a few weeks and is not able to read your and other comments here. I would call it "ANCIENT-POP".

Will this be the "official" Stockfish version downloadable on the official site?

PS: And it works on XP64! :-)

Hi,
I can confirm, this is the fastest Version.

There is only a Little question left: I get different Evaluations using this Version in comparison to stockfish_13043020_x64_modern_sse42.exe 959.488 01.05.2013 09:59 -a--
from abrok.eu:

Hi Werner,

that is the reason why I will test the official Stockfish from the stockfish team itself (and as this will be what the majority of users will use!)

What I will use for myself is a different question!

Being as a normal user, I like a universal executable which isn't necessary to be the fastest on all architectures.

It doesn't matter at all if there is about 5% loss of speed (compared to the fastest one on special arch), sometimes we don't use full power of CPUs.

The official Stockfish 3.0 is Stockfish 13043019 from the development-auto-compile-site:
Author: Marco Costalba
Date: Tue Apr 30 19:42:43 2013 +0200
Timestamp: 1367343763

Stockfish 3

Stockfish bench signature is: 4176431

And the auto-compile of that Stockfish-version (Windows x64 for modern computers + sse 4.2) works fine and is really fast.

It can't be expressed better!

A 32 bit (if really nessesary) and a 64bit with SSE Autodetection, done!
Everything else is just confusing.

Official is the one one from the official Stockfish Web site download area and for sure not some development releases!
