Will there ever be a ChessGUI 1.something?

ChessGUI, in its early versions, was in a "pre-alpha stage of conception".
Now it is already in a pre-beta stage, and the version number has sped from 0.214 to 0.241 in just 2 years. ! 8-)

So there is hope that a version 1.0 may someday emerge.

I can't imagine Ray still using version 0.229 when version 1.0 is released. :D
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

I think you are way too modest. People use ChessGUI for 'production purposes' (as opposed to just testing) with great satisfaction. It deserves a number > 1!

Thanks, HGM, but ChessGUI is still almost void of useful features.

Your Xboard/Winboard, on the other hand, has almost all features thinkable for chess and other games. You should consider going commercial.

You may not like that anyone should really praise you, so I won't.

ChessGUI 0.242 available

- fixes a rare adjudication problem with UCI engines or WB2UCI, triggered by search info lacking a PV.

(e.g. Sjakk/WB2UCI combination)

Matthias.
