Zappa Dissident Aggressor reborn

Post by Robert Flesher »

Some time ago I released my Dissident Aggressor settings which made Zappa play lke an attacking monster. Since then I have further tuned the settings to get another strength gain, while keeping the same aggressive attacking style.

Here is an example of it crushing Houdini 2.0. Make no mistake, Houdini is stronger, but Dissident Aggressor if given a chance to attack can be unstoppable! It also can plays VERY well in closed positions.

Very interesting game/result, Robert. What time control was this?

A while back, Dr. Deeb mentioned some special crazy settings for Zappa, involving King Safety = 500. I played around with the idea, but then I noticed that KS =300 + some contempt factor gave good results even against other strong engines, while KS=500 weakened Zappa a bit too much.

I hope to post a game or two that my modified Zappa Mexico played at slow time controls.

CL

Dissident Aggressor was tuned over 500+ games that I watched and went over game by game. However, the goal was not strength, but insanity! I am a HUGE fan of Tal and this is what I was looking for. I released the settings for Dissident Aggressor 3 years ago.
IMHO, it plays like TAL on "angel dust"

That was a really nice game. h4 was a very 'human hack attack' type move - and getting through on g6 after h5 was played also reminded me of this style of play.

Very cool. Thanks

As an example, looks at kingscrusher on YouTube and the warzone finals he plays. Very similar:)

Can we see the further tuned settings to get another strength gain, while keeping the same aggressive attacking style ?

You can see the games, but this time the settings will remain all mine.
