Being very interested in exotic chess engines Mr. James Swafford impressed me with the great progress of his chess engine Chess4J !
The last version - 1.0.1 - is a nice improvement : knows the rules of chess , has PV , a nice time management, can play matches. Well , for instant only 4 plies depth but.....is in progress.
Chess4j is written in Groovy programming language. Groovy has much in common with some popular scripting languages such as Perl, Python, and Ruby, but is written in a Java-like syntax. Chess4J is the single chess engine I know written in Groovy !
Mr.James Swafford is a well known chess engines author : Tristram, Galahad, Prophet, and now Chess4J !
