I'm sorry but i I think that you didn't read well and/or entirely or perhaps you simply don't like this post.Mike S. wrote:Xuse me, that's more than five months old. Please abstain from such misleading postings, thx.
The post (and the thread) is absolutely topical.
You can always call moderators if you consider this post not appropriate instead asking me to abstain.
Thank you.

Any Comments? Yea, I think it is worse than sad that there will still be some clueless people who will actually buy the thing based on the "World Champion" monicker- when there are 40 different engine versions in CCRL 32bit 40/40 rated higher than Hiarcs, and most are free. And if they had tested more than 1 version of Ivanhoe like they did many others, you could be looking at between 60 and 70 versions that are stronger.

Re: About Hiarcs
IMO people buy hiarcs because of the unique playing style.
of course today there are other engines beeing stronger. but none of those engines has hiarcs playing style.
i will buy hiarcs. of course i am disapointed that it is still not published.
this is similar with shredder.
those engines i am interested are difficult to buy.
i am waiting for shredder, hiarcs and pandix.

As stated elsehwere in the thread by someone else, I would buy Hiarcs for the "style" and also because I am excited to see what the new GUI is like. Remember that people buy engines for different reasons other than just ELO points at CCRL.

Not sure what you are referring to as misleading but if it is the length of time it is taking to get it finished well yeah, it is taking awhile but that is better than the Rybka model of rush it out there with a bajillion bugs!MM wrote:Volker Pittlik wrote:The question is: which postting was misleading?Mike S. wrote:Xuse me, that's more than five months old.
