The engine, yes. Up to CM3000 or -3500, then they switched to The King.

I think the latest he provided the engine for was Majestic Chess but I'm not sure. Prior to that, Power Chess (not the DOS program with same name) and USCF chess.

There are chess programs which don't even tell the engine programmer's name because their makers don't expect anyone could interest that. Barbarians!

IIRC, CM3000, Zarkov 2.6 and Fritz 1 were very close in strength.

Just a little correction. Cm3000 was NOT buy David K.
He did it but just until cm 2100.

I do not doubt that CM3000 was by D.Kittinger. If there is any proof for the opposite, present it.

Alternatively, we could hear J.Merlino who is the Chessmaster authoritiy about such question.s

According to Wikipedia, the first Chessmaster that used the engine The King, was Chessmaster 4000. So, if Wikipedia is right, Chessmaster 3000 still used a Kittinger engine.

On the matter of different risc2500 versions, they are pretty much just
very minor bugfixes, nothing major.
The ones with upgraded RAM are about 40 elo stronger, with the 512kb
being just as good as the 2mb, it seems.

Please note that Chessmaster 3000 is NOT a de Koning program but a Kittinger program . De Koning programs start with Chessmaster 4000.
Chessmaster 2000 was Kittinger and is based around Mychess. Chessmaster 2100 (The Fidelity) was Spracklen and based around Sargon III.
Chessmaster 3000 as far as I know it is not certain that this is Kittinger since the War Room already existed with Chessmaster 2100. The Credits for Chessmaster 3000 show the name Henryk Markarian.

Unfortunately none of the Credits in Chessmaster 3000 mention any known chess programmer. Henrik Markarian's name also floats around CM2100 therefore CM3000 has no named chess programmer name behind it. As such it could be:
Kittinger
Spracklen
De Koening
Markarian

ps I know what Wikispaces says, but in this case they might be wrong since they are already wrong with Chessmaster 2100.

MyChess
Chessmaster 2000/2100/3000 engines
WChess (Majestic, Aladdin,PowerChess,USCF Chess)
Dedicated chess computers (Savant,Robot Adversary, Constellation, Novag).

Concerning the first Chessmaster engines:

2000
2100
3000 DOS
3000 Windows 3.x

all were powdered by Mr.Dave Kittinger engines - in fact WChess versions.

Any Sargon in Chessmaster !

Mr.Markarian was the project manager !

Wasn't any Chessmaster 3500.

From Chessmaster 4000 Turbo (1993) they was a new chess engine :The King 2.0 of Johan de Koning. Previously this engine powdered TASC database (a The Netherlands product).
Chessmaster 4000 Turbo is a fantastic good program.Still I use it today on DOS-Box together with the simulation of Windows 3.x OS.

Have a nice day !
