Why is Note2 much faster than Note 3? I was thinking of buying it.

for chess the note2 is faster. qualcomm cpus have smaller internal caches.
the note 2 has the exynos cpu. therefore for chess it is faster.

Moto G = 460k. Set to 4 cores, no other settings changed.

thanks. in the moment i am studying the reports about the

Fujitsu Arrows F-01F.

It is water resistant and has a 5" white magic display
and a very big battery ~3300 mAh.

This should result in 3 days usage.

http://www.kyoex.com/docomo-fujitsu-f-0 ... -nx-phone/

the white magic display is known from the xperia p , only that there is was 4" and not full hd but <hd.

I did research on 2 hot devices

Note 10.1 2014 edition (exynos 5420 1.9ghz quad)
1014 nps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... ?t=2592573

Asus transformer tf701t (tegra 4)
1052 nps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... ?t=2592584

These are good for chess since they have 3gb and 2gb of ram respectively. So more for the hash tables or tablebases.

There has been some testing that lowering the resolution improves performance. See the last two posts in second link. I'm going to research whether this applies to chess.

I have a question.
Does the stockfish app for iOS contain the 64bit compile of the stockfish engine or the 32bit version? I'm wondering why apple's new chip is getting such a high nps count with a lower clock speed and Half the cores.

Both. It includes both a 32 and a 64 bits exe and will run the adequate binary depending on which devices it runs on.
Apple's A7 is 64 bits and home-made. It is extremely well designed and optimized and is obviously currently the best implementation of the ARM design. And the GPU, although useless for chess, is also the best on the market (I've recently started to learn OpenGL ES 3.0 and am very impressed with the figures I get.
