Is there a consensus on which version of Ivanhoe is the strongest? Thanks.

The problem with Ivanhoe has always been that there were so many versions and compiles that it was a lottery. I believe that Ivanhoe 9.46h is the latest, which is why I tested it, but according to many it's not the strongest.
Then you have the additional problem that there are different compiles, some with modifications to the official source code. That's if I understand correctly what I've been told.

IvanHoe's version numbering is somewhat uncommon. The most recent is the onw with the lowest number and highest letter. At the time of this writing that's IvanHoe 999946h (also known as 9.46h, but the correct name really is 999946h to respect the authors version numbering).
The original source code is here
http://chess.cygnitec.com/engine/ivanhoe/
I've compiled it on my linux machine and it works beautifully well. In my rating list (Open Source Bullet, see Tournament forum) it's about the same strength as StockFish (a few elo points ahead but well within the error bar). So it really is the strongest open source engine. Although it doesn't seem to be actively developped (other than by parasites making trivial modifications, changing the name and claiming credit for it, sometimes even closed source and commercial, cf Vitrivius). I suspect StockFish will soon get clear #1 open source place in the next release.

Never discuss discussions... at least we are talking about something, what about you?
