Modern Polyglots would in fact understand the 'uci' command

Perhaps it is planned to include a newer version of Polyglot somewhere in the near future.

I'll try it with the Web2Uci interface, but nevertheless I wanted to expose how sometimes small dificulties in software pieces can lead to small to middle disasters, when combined carefully

Well , that's news to me. I think it's the first GNU Chess being Wb/UCI.

Well, Sylwy, I would not want to disappoint you but version 5.07.173b was already UCI (and WB)...

I see Gabor . In fact from some years I was interested only by the Java port GNU 5.07 4j of Mr.Xan Gregg . And this version is under WinBoard protocol. Some changes in area !
