Post by abik »

I just released the Setup Position feature in version 3.1.1 of Chess for Android, available at the Android Market or as direct download.

Over the past few months, many new features were added, which I have summarized below.
  • setup position (this release)
  • UCI and XBoard/WinBoard engines import
  • infinite analysis
  • pondering
  • opening test suite
  • improved setup (endgame tablebases, threads, etc.)

How do I play against computer with Fischer time controls? I see how to change time per move but can't figure out how to change starting time.

Thanks Jim!

Michael, I am sorry, but Chess for Android currently only supports fixed-time-per-move settings. Adding more general time controls has been on my to-do list of a long while, but each time other feature requests took precedence. And there are only so many free weekends in a year for me :-)

Thanks for confirmation, at least I know that it's not my UI blindness that makes me miss it.

Awesome :)
I'm going to get myself an Android phone. Looking at HTC and Samsung. Do you have any recommendation ?
For sure my first purchase on the Android market is going to be CFA :)

Hard to say. I have a few Android phones and one tablet, and I am happy with all of them.

It's been working great on GoogleTV (Logitech Revue) as well.
