Got it and running on an Acer Iconia A500 tablet. Two issues:
1) The setup selection board is way too small or my fingers are too big.
2) When I turn the A500 perpendicular to my waist, I loose the selection of pieces.

Other than that it is really nice, you should be charging for it - at least $2.

Thanks for your feedback.

As for charging, I actually like to keep it a free product. My humble contribution to the chess community :-)

As for losing the selection, the latest version 3.1.2 should be complete immune against layout changes from portrait to landscape and back. Can you please verify? If not, perhaps this particular device needs a bit more attention.

Do you mean that from the opening window, you cannot navigate there (going up to root as I explained), or something else? Please describe more specific what "cannot" means (no option, window closes, etc.)?

Perhaps in the next release, I can make the navigation window prompt errors back to the user, that will make future debugging a bit easier....

That fixed the selection issue. The setup box is still rather small relative to the size of the A500 and my fingers.

I still am not sure where exactly you stored the engines or why you cannot install them on SD card to start with (AFAIK all Android devices allow that). Why don't you email me privately (my email appears as bitmap top of this page) and we can hopefully resolve this offline?

maybe cfa does not have read/write-access to the /download directory? I guess your tablet is not rooted?

Maybe you could copy the engines from your download folder to /SDCard with another file manager like ES File Explorer or Astro File Manager.
