Sorry, now my question here, what justifies you to go with a commercial Komodo MP ??

In the address info boxes one is titled " county" , and I wonder if it should be " state" , at least in USA ??

Anyway , I went back to edit that box , and put state name in for a proper mailing address in USA , and it says my telephone # is not valid......

Tom
Hi Tom, thanks for pointing this out. You'll be able to enter you phone number now and new customers will see 'State or County' where they are meant to enter their State.

If anyone else notices something wrong with the website - please speak up.

I have no objections to a commercial MP Komodo, and have every intention to purchase it, but I wonder what prompted the decision to go commercial on the SP version as well?

I understood that SP Komodo would remain freely available.

It is still effectively free for someone planning to buy the MP version, as the SP price will be discounted from the MP price when they order it. Also our current plan is to continue to offer the previous major SP version free for everyone.
If we didn't charge anything for the latest SP, some people would say it's not worth $40 for MP. As it is, the extra cost of MP is only $20.

It is certainely worth $20 if it is the new king of the hill :)
But is it so? We have yet to see the first reports to surface...
Then, the next Critter is around the corner and maybe Houdini had some spare reserve to produce.
Interesting times

I think $20 for number 2 is still a very good deal, if it is totally different from number 1. A stronger Houdini is of course always possible, but I think Houdart would not have allowed the embarrassment of Houdini 2 being below Houdini 1.5 on most lists at longer time controls if he had any elo "in the pocket" at the time of Houdini 2 release.

Hi Don and Larry,

Exciting Komodo is being released. Just a quick question, when purchasing Komodo 4 what is this "newsletter". Is it produced by the Komodo team or a 3rd party source. I just started this e-mail account and hoped it wouldn't be spammed.

Just a quick edit. I noticed that in the sign up process you ask for "county"? Shouldn't this be country?

I think that way too much information is required to make a payment. Why not a simple Paypal payment with only an email address for reference? I also tried the "Donate" button, but that didn't work.
