Komodo 3 almost here - windows 64 now available

Post by Don »

Komodo 3 that works with all 64 bit versions of windows is now available via the http://komodchess.com web site.

I'm working on the 32 bit version, hopefully it will follow in the next couple of hours.

sorry don, but

the files before were called komodo64-3, now the files are called komodo3-64 etc.

but these files do not run on my vista64 bit intel core2duo system.
not the normal, not the sse version.

same behaviour as with the 2 exe's from earlier downloads, komodo64-3.

Please double check what you are doing. These binaries run on:

My core 2 duo laptop (except the sse4.2 version)
An AMD machine (both versions)
A core 5 and a core 7 machine.

I renamed the zip file because the previous naming was inconsistent.

I want to get some reports to see which machines they do or do not work on.

We can email privately and I will try to help debug this - see if something about the compile is broken on Vista, etc.

Of course neither is going to run on a 32 bit system, but you are on vista64 bit.

Is it not running for anyone else?

Is it running for everyone else?

Which CPU and which OS?

ok. it was a firewall issue. after a few reboots, now the firewall asks me if it should allow komodo to run. and NOW i can agree and it works. before there was no message.

so it seems it runs on vista64 bit, xp 64 bit and win7/64.

For what it is worth it is working on my Windows 7 64 bit and in the Shredder Classic GUI.

(where it beat Shredder 12 3 games to 1 in a little mini tournament)

Komodo 3 64 SSE is currently beating Houdini on my machine! This is only after a few games, but WOW! Looks like you made a some huge improvements. Thank-you, Don/Larry.

Amazing!
