Hello together (especially Macintosh-users!),
Wolf Stephan Kappesser is developing a Mac OS X- GUI "CoffeeHouse 2011" which will be available in three versions:
-- free
-- standard/pro (commercial, but both are not released yet)
URL = http://www.boringgames.de/de/index.shtml
The full informations are only written in German language, the English section of this site is still under construction. CoffeeHouse 2011 was tested with the engines Protector, Glaurung and GNU Chess.
Unfortunately - unknown if XBoard/UCI-protocol is generally supported.
A few days ago, I asked therefore the author, but got no answer from him.
Can anyybody test the free edition and try to embed other XBoard/UCI programmes into it, e.g. Crafty, Scorpio, Komodo, Stockfish....
Thank for your cooperation!
Best wishes,
Norbert

Must I pay to test this ? No screenshot ? Not even one ? 69 Euros ?Es basiert vollständig auf Cocoa und hat eine integrierte UCI-Engine (Stockfish) zum analysieren und auswerten einer Partie.
Hmmm...

Two actually. Look for the word "screenshots" in the gray bar.

In IE7 the bar does not even exist. Only after switching to Linux I could see the bar and get to the screenshots. They look more like something I would use for (say) Ultima than for Chess... The board + pieces is 2D, but then can be viewed at an angle in 3D.

A new UCI using GUI for Chess at Mac OS X is always welcomed.
But it would be even more progress, to have one supporting 10x8
Chess as well, especially CRC (Capablanca Random Chess). That
would really be a beginning of a new and modern era.

What would be new about that? XBoard already does that for years...

I just tried the software but deleted in less than a minute. It's pointless unless there's an English version. The board isn't 3D as I'd thought......
