True Legend

my nephew saw some week ago on playchess one of the most remarkable games ever between a 2000 player en fritz 11.
Does anyone seen this game?

by the way i'm pretty sure this guy didn't cheated because it was a 3 min game and at some point every engine on the planet gives fritz 11 at least a +10 score.
the human was white and fritz 11 black

again the game with some comments

1. e4 d5 2. e5 c5 3. b4 the first very weird move, a pawn sac against an engine!!! cxb4 4. a3 Nc6 5. f4 e6 6. Nf3 Nh6 7. axb4 Bxb4 8. c3
Be7 9. d4 O-O 10. Bd3 Bd7 11. O-O b5 12. h3 a5 13. g4 the king hunt begins Qb6 14. Kh2 b4 15. f5 exf5 16. g5 Ng4+ 17. Kg2 b3 18. hxg4 b2 19. gxf5!!!????!!! take my rook and have to queens :shock: houdini is giving fritz here almost -13 :shock: a knight for queen and rook :shock: bxa1=Q 20. f6 Rab8 i think that after g6 the game is over fior the human but fritz played this loosing move. But don't be to harsh for fritz because houdini is still at -10 for fritz :shock: 21. Bxh7+ natural move but with short time no engine sees this move. the guy has only a knight and a pawn for queen rook and bishop and most engines still favour fritz with at least -10 Kxh7 also Kh8 doens't help 22. Rh1+ Kg8 23. Rh8+ :shock: :shock: :shock: take my other rook and now the engines are realising what's happening. the evals are dropping from -10 to 0,00 and some strong engines are actually seeing a win for white. Kxh8 count the material, a knight and pawn for queen 2 rooks and a bishop but black is lost 24. Qh1+ Kg8 25. fxg7 here the human had to play g6 for a winning advantage but unfortunatly he missed it :( Kxg7 26. Qh6+ Kg8 27. g6 fxg6 28. Qxg6+ Kh8 29. Qh6+ Kg8 30. Qg6+ Kh8 31. Qh6+ Kg8 32. Qg6+ 1/2-1/2 a draw but what a game.

a nice test postition after 20...Rb8 does any engine see the the bishop sac and gives a plus score? i don't have a powerfull pc but the engines i tried didn't see it within 30 seconds.

i will ask him tomorrow, if i'm not wrong he said it was played friday the 18th of febrauri. Black was comp fritz 11

Kg2 b3 18. hxg4 b2 19. gxf5!!!????!!! take my rook and have to queens :shock: houdini is giving fritz here almost -13 :shock: a knight for queen and rook :shock: bxa1=Q 20. f6 Rab8 i think that after g6 the game is over fior the human but fritz played this loosing move. But don't be to harsh for fritz because houdini is still at -10 for fritz :shock: 21. Bxh7+ natural move but with short time no engine sees this move. the guy has only a knight and a pawn for queen rook and bishop and most engines still favour fritz with at least -10 Kxh7 also Kh8 doens't help 22. Rh1+ Kg8 23. Rh8+ :shock: :shock: :shock: take my other rook and now the engines are realising what's happening. the evals are dropping from -10 to 0,00 and some strong engines are actually seeing a win for white. Kxh8 count the material, a knight and pawn for queen 2 rooks and a bishop but black is lost 24. Qh1+ Kg8 25. fxg7 here the human had to play g6 for a winning advantage but unfortunatly he missed it :( Kxg7 26. Qh6+ Kg8 27. g6 fxg6 28. Qxg6+ Kh8 29. Qh6+ Kg8 30. Qg6+ Kh8 31. Qh6+ Kg8 32. Qg6+ 1/2-1/2 a draw but what a game.

a nice test postition after 20...Rb8 does any engine see the the bishop sac and gives a plus score? i don't have a powerfull pc but the engines i tried didn't see it within 30 seconds.

Thanks for sharing this! Very amusing :mrgreen: Too bad that the player didn't find the win. It was probably a "once in a lifetime" chance. But the draw against F11 under these circumstances is very good too.

It is also nice to see what would happen after 22...Kg6:

Yes, that's the win and it's forced mate. 25..fg 26. Ng5! and after tossing pieces Black is mated.

Many programs miss the mate let alone Game 3-0.

White to play and mate in 10.
