Yes, get his name, this game deserves to be submitted to chessgames.com.

He played very well even though he missed the win.
I got the name of the legend: Duppi (=nick on playchess)
his rating was 1990 when he played his immortal game

Thanks for sharing this! Very amusing Too bad that the player didn't find the win. It was probably a "once in a lifetime" chance. But the draw against F11 under these circumstances is very good too.

It is also nice to see what would happen after 22...Kg6:

23.Nh4+ Kh7 24.Qh5+ Kg8 25.Qh8+! Kxh8 26.Ng6+ Kg8 27.Rh8#

[D]1r3rkR/3bbpp1/1qn2PN1/p2pP1P1/3P4/2P5/6K1/qNB5 b - - 0 27
wow coooool. thanx for this line.
most of time we (=me) concentrate only on the mainline the engine gives while most of time the most beautifull line is not the mainline

You can force mate because White has a win, but with correct defense, it won't happen before move 50, and maybe not before move 70.

Here is the position after 26 ... Qbb2+

[D] 1r3rk1/3bb1p1/1qn2Pp1/p2pP1N1/3P4/2P5/6K1/qNB4Q b - - 1 26

White has only one good line:

27 Bxb2

Other moves lose.

27 Nd2 Qxd2+, 28 Bxd2 (else 28...Qxg5) Qxh1.

27 Bd2 Qxd2+ 28 Nxd2 (else 28 ... Qxg5) Qxh1.

27 Kg2 Qxc1+ followed by Qxg5.

27 Kf1 Qxc1+ followed by Qxg5.

27 Kg3 Qc3+, 28 Nxc3 (28 Kg2 Rb2+ mates quickly) Qxc3+, 29 Kg2 Qc2+, 30 Kg3 Rb3+ and White will soon be mated or be forced to move the Knight or Queen away from the mating pattern.

29 Kf3 Qc3+ (yes, I know the engine has a line faster by a move), 30 Be3 (the only move that differs from the previous note) Qxe3+!, 31 Kxe3 Qxd4+, and Black will bring in the Rook next move with check and mate soon after.

27 ... Qxb2+
28 Kg3

Again, other moves lose, i.e. 28 Kf3 Rxf6+!

28 ... Qf2+
29 Kxf2 Rxf6+
30 exf6 Bxf6

Black has extricated himself from the mating net, but at the cost of both Queens, a Rook, and soon a Bishop and pawn:

31 Qxd5+ Kh8
32 Nf7+ Kh7
33 Qxd7

The smoke has cleared, and White is up a Queen for a Rook and pawn.
This production is being brought to you by Rybka: "The engine made from scratch.™"

By the way, i said it was fritz 11, but i think i'm wrong because the latest fritz is actually 12. And i suppose that the fritz who plays in the main room is he latest fritz thus deep fritz 12.

Sorry, hadn't time to read your line. I'm going to take a look. Maybe Black can force it beyond ten moves. It's tricky when the losing side can throw everything at you including the kitchen sink.

People tend to prune those moves automatically. I do at least.

Yes, I looked at the wrong line. I didn't comb through it with a computer.

I've looked at it again briefly and see where I went wrong. There's no immediate mate. My mistake.

Rybka is by far the best engine in this position as it finds g6!! very fast. Houdini and Critter both want to play fxg7 for a very long time.

21. Bxh7+ Kxh7 22. Rh1+ Kg8 23. Rh8+ Kxh8 24. Qh1+ Kg8 25. g6!!
Winning! amazing test position!

we reach this position:
[d]1r3rk1/3bbpp1/1qn2PP1/p2pP3/3P4/2P2N2/6K1/qNB4Q b - - 0 25
you posted: Yes, that's the win and it's forced mate. 25..fg 26. Ng5! and after tossing pieces Black is mated.

after 25..fg 26. Ng5! we reach this position:
[d]1r3rk1/3bb1p1/1qn2Pp1/p2pP1N1/3P4/2P5/6K1/qNB4Q b - - 0 26
and now only 26...Qbb2! avoid mate! 27.Bxb2 Qxb2+ 28.Kg3 Qf2+! 29.Kxf2 Rxf6+ 30.exf6 Bxf6 31.Qd5+ +6.xx for white

second best move (26...Bh3+) leads after 27.Qxh3 to mate in 8 for white. :)
Okay guys I change it to mate in 35, or close!? :o
