The ability to play two chess programs against each other across a LAN/WAN network - in a way that is very user-friendly, i.e., not requiring any special low-level technical language {e.g., shell scripts or other} to make this work. Ideally one Arena application simply lists all the possible Arena opponents it can see on the current LAN network {where it forms part of the same 'Workgroup'}.

Possible?

Tough one!

How about

1) Descriptive Notation conversion for easier study of older books

2) Verbose Analysis

3) Can one already analyze a game using multiple engines concurrently?

Well just wanted to ask what is it that you would like to have most in a new Arena. Till now we are thinking of

1) Multidocument
2) Windows docking
3) Aggregate (did you notice this at all ?)/Engine windows together

on the other habd 3-D is again not on the agenda.

All the best for 2011

And by the way if you hear again from Russain sources the project you better don't belive Pravda ("The Truth")...

Michael,
The feature that I would like most is to be able to force each engine in a head to head to play both sides of the same opening.
Good one +1

Also a possibility to run multiple tournaments at once.
For example. I want to test Komodo vs Gull. Both engines has not SMP support, so that not to waste my time I wanna run 2 or even 3 parallel tournaments and get results written in the single tourn. table.
Just like LittleBlitzer does it.

I do that with WinBoard all the time, by just running two instances of it. Any reason why you could not do that in Arena too?

The possibility to run multiple games of the same tournament in parallel.

Hi Michael...

I'd like to see a 3-1-0 point system (and of course 1-0.5-0)
The default engine name when I add a new engine is better to be the "real" (internal) engine name by default.....

I would like to see a build in tool where two people on different places can play games against each other.
Must be very simple by selecting in the Extra menu..with for example a access code that both has to type in for starting up the connection between these two computers!
Or/and even at home if people has more then one system.

Would be nice..

excellent - I like your suggestions!
