Hi everyone,
I have released Rotor 0.6, it can be found at https://sites.google.com/site/chessrotor/
Main changes are:
- major refactoring of code, several classes introduced
- several speed optimizations removed which made it difficult to modify the code
- mate score handling in transposition table corrected
- "moves ..." after UCI command "position fen ..." now handled
- futility pruning added
- attack tables modified, attack information of all squares is now available in every node
The refactoring and attack table changes have made the program roughly 2x slower, and it took quite
some time to compensate for the resulting loss of strenght. It should now hopefully be slightly stronger
than version 0.5, and having attack information available in all nodes should allow for future improvements.
Have fun,
Jan

Thanks Jan for the new release
_No one can hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you can hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward….

Thanks Swami,swami wrote:
I tried to compare it with a previous result, but could only find a total score of 617 for 1000 position for Rotor 0.5.
Since 825/1300 = 0.635, I am assuming some progress

You're welcome, Jan.
That's indeed an improvement considering the last three epd's are not easier.
Best wishes,
Swami
