What kind of strength increase, if any, do you expect from this version?

Peter
According to my tests at extremely fast time controls:
30 elo over the previous public version (0.4),
and a little stronger than 0.5 (which was private).

Hi Allard,

thank you very much for the Spark 1.0 release!

I can`t play/analyze with engine here under Chessbase GUI with 4096 MB Hashables!
I get the following error message from the GUI: "spark-1.0-win64-mp-corei" caused an exception.
2048 MB Hashables works without any problems.

Hi Allard,

at first:
Thanks for your new version!

I have no luck in CSS OM tourney.
2x remis, 3x lost but I am playing with weeker hardware.

Here I had a problem that the Fritz 12 GUI crashed if I gave Spark 0.5 2Gg for Hash-Tables.

You spoke from 30 ELO ...
Look here ...

Code: Select all

Spark 0.5 x64 2741 13 13 1974 54% 2713 37%
Spark 0.4 x64 2720 20 20 840 53% 2698 40%
Spark 0.5 w32 2708 16 17 1200 51% 2702 41%
Spark 0.4 w32 2686 19 19 880 49% 2692 42%
Spark 0.3a w32 2655 17 17 1120 44% 2698 41%
Spark 0.3 w32 2643 19 19 880 43% 2690 42%
33 ELO more from x64 version 0.5 to 0.4
22 ELO more from w32 version 0.5 to 0.4

I will start 1.000 SWCR games December 14th, 2010.
If you like you can follow at this time the LIVE table on my webpage.

Best and thanks again!
Frank

Hi Allard,

Any chance for a generic non-ss2 version?

Great, finally version 1.0 - I hate version numbers 0.xx for ELO 3100 engines :)

Spark of Mr. Siemelink is only from 2009 !
Hope a trade mark is valid everywhere. Not only for Western products !
The silence of Mr.Siemelink is interesting !
