2010 Fifth Annual ACCA Pan Am Computer Chess Championships

Post by CRoberson »

The 2010 Fifth Annual ACCA Pan American Computer Chess Championships will be the weekend of November 6 & 7 2010. It will be roughly the same format and rules as in the past with the possibility of changing the number of rounds based on the number of entries. The TC will be G/45 minutes + 10 seconds increment.

Also, we will try something different with this event. It will be on FICS and Peter Skinner has agreed to TD for us as well as insuring the competitors get the accounts they need in time. I will have the web pages up in a few days.

As per this specific event, it is open to ACCA members only. This means any author can enter that resides or is a citizen of the Americas: North America, Central America or South America including Antarctica and Greenland. However, I have (on one occasion) made an exception to even out the number of participants. That time it/he was a human FIDE Master from the Netherlands.

The web pages are up and registration is open: http://compchess.org/ACCAChampionships/ ... Champ.html

Given that this event is being run on FICS and the server time is inline with the US pacific coast, the round times are listed in California USA time.

The only rule change pertains to disconnects. In order for the disconnect to count against you, it must interrupt the current match.

Hi Charles,

The website still mentions Sat Nov 14 and Sun Nov 15, which is wrong because 15 is a Monday actually not a Sunday.
