To tell you the truth Alex, I wish I did not purchase CB10. It was not worth the price I paid when I upgraded from CB9 in my opinion. It may have been if I upgraded from CB8, but I have not used CB8 in so long I really do not remember.

It all depends. I just upgraded my CB9 to ChessbaseLight 2009 Premium, and I couldn't be happier. Of course, Windows 7 compatability was the big issue. Also, the price for this is more manageable than to CB10 as long as you do not need the Playchess sub or database that comes with CB10. The database that comes with CBLight 2009 is pretty meager.

My feelings exactly.
I have been using Chessbase for many years and the last upgrade (to CB10) was the least necessary one. Due to minor but annoying bugs (let me know if you'd like to crash CB10 at will) I still use CB9 most of the time.

Hi Jim,
i have also CBLight2009Premium, Version-Date (Nov 6 2009)

which date has your version?
Menu Help > About Chessbase 2009 Premium... (Text above window)

When i tried to upgrade online, it shows allways > Program is up-to-date

Thanks

Herbert - my version is dated May 29, 2010. I downloaded it from the Chessbase site (non premium version) about a week ago and purchased the activation key the same day. I would guess that if you cannot get the online updates to work properly, you could simply reinstall the program (here I cannot advise you as to whether or not you need to uninstall the old version first). Good luck.

Hi Jim,

thanks for the information. I will think about this, and give it a try next week.

It is very good, but at this point, CB 11 is in development, so...
