I saw a program for swiss pairings on Arena site. Is this SwissOpt the same?Volker Annuss wrote:
I have a program SwissOpt that makes swiss pairings from a PGN file. It does not use the FIDE swiss pairing rules. It uses an optimization algorithm instead. This shoud be a good starting point to make the program you want.

Yes it is still there , but that is a very old version that does not even have the name SwissOpt.beachknight wrote:I saw a program for swiss pairings on Arena site. Is this SwissOpt the same?
Newer versions were available from exactachess, but they are no longer there.
The newest version with some bugs fixed was sent to Bruno Lucas only. I have not touched it for more than 2 years.

I googled SwissOpt and got the following link of Swiss Optical Company:Volker Annuss wrote:Yes it is still there , but that is a very old version that does not even have the name SwissOpt.beachknight wrote:I saw a program for swiss pairings on Arena site. Is this SwissOpt the same?

Perhaps a name revision of your program is necessary.

Just to clarify things a bit, though I am not programming.beachknight wrote:
1. Yes, ELO Ratings is available in the PGN file.
Or for input I may provide BayesElo ratings or details files.
good
2. Yes, I dont want an engine's different versions in the same group.
not easy to automatically differentiate between versions for all engines.
I need w32 only and x64 only pairings for
-- w32 engines (msw),
-- x64 engines (msw)
Is the w32/x64 in all engine names ?
If not, are there separate engine lists ?
Plus I have following classes:
-- linux engines
-- mac engines
-- chessbase native engines
-- chesspartner engines
Are there separate pgn files ?

Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.
