are you sure this is not drawn??

if the white king goes to capture Kxa7, then the black king goes to c7, blocking the king and the c-pawn, while the knight is guarding the path of the f-pawn.

plan B, white king goes and threatens Pf3. Then the knight defends the square from d4 with the king guarding the knight. If then Bxf3, the Bishop stops defending c2 and the knight can capture it. Now the Knight has to sacrifice itself for the pawn and the remaining white rook pawn has the wrong color to the white bishop.

It seems to be very hard to do it. :?

Thanks, great test position. Stockfish 1.7.1 takes 13:42 to find Kd6 ...
It is realy a valuable position. Stockfish has a trouble since doesnt use EGTB. I recommend to use Houdini. Houdini has a code to play KQ vs KP with relative pawn a7 (c7,f7,h7).

Houdini has another problem and probably can't solve it.
Maybe Stockfish is realy the best in endgames. :D
It would be fine to test this position with 8-cpu by many engines.

Given more time, i think Stockfish would find a forced mate in this position, without tablebases.

Stockfish is indeed very good in endgames that require deep analysis, because of its aggressive pruning it goes deeper than most other engines.
