Good bye Talkchess !
Matthias Gemuh.
I see no reason to ask Graham to delete accounts.
People do not need their account to be deleted to stop posting so I simply do not see the benefit of it.
If people want to tell other people that they stop to post then they can do it without deleting their accounts(and I believe that there are many accounts of people who are not active in this forum).
we life not in middle age. No reason again for burning of witches ... better ... to pillaroy persons like Graham. Graham do here job only ... for all of us ... for you too.
To open a new forum isn't the right solution.
Chess players supposed to be very intelligent.
Its time for a good solution we all can life with it.
I am sure to write a chess program is more complicated as to search a solution for this bad situation.
A new forum?
On the other hand why not???
Computerchess should be the topic I think. Freeware and commercial chess could be wonderful. Means without threads we can read that persons understand the copy and paste function.
Hey, we are computer chess players and no running amok players.
Best
Frank
Things cannot get sillier. How are we to know that a subfroum "Engine Origins" is for posting about flower arrangement.

Hello Matthias,
Please defer your request until after you read Sam Hull's post. It seems there was a large general misunderstanding of ICD's/Quentin's communication to the Moderators.
Both Jeremy and especially Graham Banks misunderstood the communication, prompting Graham to resume his strange moderation behavior, thus causing Jeremy to resign.
Sam said he clarified the communication for Graham again. Hopefully Graham will then reverse all of his previous actions. If Graham can be brought under control, and Jeremy returns as Moderator, then we may get our beloved CCC back.
All the best,
Steve
There was no misunderstanding at all! The owners are tightening their censorship policy. Some folk, wanting open, uncensored computer chess discussions, decided to set up a free, non-commercial alternative forum allowing open, uncensored discussions of computer chess.
The owners and their stormtroopers are now suddenly fearful the flock will climb over their Berlin Wall and breath the fresh air on the other side. No amount of mincing words on the stated censorship policy will obscure the fact that CCC does have a policy of censorship as opposed to merely moderation. A policy that is carried out with force and effect in a highly inconsistent and capricious manner.
If you want to live in a bubble of censorship and aggressive moderation, then CCC is your place.

Hello Uri,
My guess is that Matthias knows that. Instead, his post was humorously sarcastic by simply mocking Graham Bank's draconian behavior.

Thought I had posted my last comments on this server. I can be added to that list.

I see no reason to leave this forum. I don't really care if all
my posts are deleted once a week or less.I gain to much
here to leave. This is my second home. So my girlfriends
say. Most here belong to more than one chess forum. I
visit around 5 a day. Now we have another forum and i
jumped right in that one. It should be a good one.
We could have another team game as before to make
things a little more interesting.
but the one thing i would NOT do is resign because of the actions of one wayward mod
the members voted for those they felt would do the best job and sometimes that means putting up a fight for them
.
