i do not use default parameters. i have my own. and have great success with it. stockfish is my chouce of engines to use. but when sf 2.0 comes out then r4 will be challenged.

Igorrit performs better than both R4 & Fire on my quad core; I will never buy chess software again.

i agree with miles. free engines are just as good as commercial ones. at least some free engines.

Engines are not bought for strength only, otherwise no one would've bought Shredder, Junior, Hiarcs, Naum..etc

You left out the fact that Rybka 3 64-bit 4CPU is 3260. That's only 26 points behind Rybka 4. It seems like Vas is not selling the real Rybka 4. My guess is it's being held out for the on-line version only.

He has the right to do whatever he wants. He has the strongest commercial engine on earth. And Rybka Cluster is definitely stronger

According to Ingo Bauer's list, Deep Rybka 4 has a very small difference of
6 ELO point more to Rybka 3 mp, see the following URL

I didn't get Rybka 3, as I didn't have a good computer when it came out, and i thought i'd rather wait for something a little better, in a few things that Rybka 3 was still lacking.
But now it seems, that the good of Rybka 4 over Rybka 3 is so small, that maybe I should try to get Rybka 3 very cheap, instead of paying the higher price for Rybka 4. (Unless i believe Rybka 5 might be alot better, and quite soon).
Am I wrong?
