i just received confirmation from the tournament director that
they've selected Fire to participate in this prestigious tournament.
there's one unknown entry (at least to me):
Cryptic from the United Arab Emirates?
can anyone shed some light here?
(a quick Google turned up nothing)

Hello,
I didn't find any precise address. And a quick Wikipedia search turned out the following:
Thüringen can refer to several places:
* Thuringia, the state in Germany
* Thüringen, Austria, a town in the district of Bludenz in Vorarlberg
Is it the first or the latter?

It's the first, of course.

I though Junior had a license the forbid it to participate in this type of tournaments.

Does anyone know what that is supposed to mean:
(from http://chessprogramming.wikispaces.com/Hydra)Shark is network based deep search meta engine. It is based on unique idea by which it reaches to depth of 25+ easily with the help of only 6 CPUs in less than a minute. Currently a dual core CPU takes more than an hour to reach to this depth.

No.... and I've searched Google for anything relating to it. No luck. Everything about it is well.... Cryptic . No luck with it's brother cryptic either. I believe that there is an account (actually 2, but they are the same person AFAIK) on playchess that uses Shark, and/or Cryptic.metax wrote:Does anyone know what that is supposed to mean:

BTW, I think Stockfish beats it for depth.....
