On the new Loop website it says:
Eine 32-Bit Engine oder eine Multicore Version sind derzeit nicht geplant.
Does that really mean that no multi-processor version at all is planned?

On the question of HIARCS... There was a 64-bit version (X54), but for some reason it's no longer available. That it's supposedly no stronger than the (then) 32-bit HIARCS isn't a good enough reason.

It just seems wrong to run 32-bit engines on 64-bit systems (whatever the real speedup in each case) so I certainly side with Damir.

If it's slower than the 32-bit version (which may have been the case) is that a good enough reason?

You must not play Fritz or HIARCS or Shredder much..... (though actually Shredder does have a 64-bit version, it's just not much stronger, if at all). Or Bright, or Critter, or a lot of other engines that don't have 64-bit versions.

How good is Loop 2007, anyway??

You're right, Peter. I don't use 32-bit engines much on my 64-bit systems.

Hi Peter.
Loop is a very nice engine. I don't remember what it is
rated at.
The older versions was one of the first engines
i played.

Best,
Gerold.
