see the bold gxf5 above, that move loses but exf5 instead of gxf5 can hold and maintain the fortress. 1/2 - 1/2 I guess

[D]1Q6/4kp2/4p1p1/3r1P2/6P1/4K3/8/8 b - - 0 17

Check the above position, if eval function kicks in, then gxf5 is the normal move for engines which loses as shown by your line. But actually exf5 can hold a draw.

Gee do you know how engine works? 30 plies down the PV is certainly rubbish, especially in analysis on many cores and even more so in analysis with TBs, so analysing that it completely pointless.
Score 128 in practice means chance that SF will mate is 99.9999999% (a lot of nines) and probability of actually having a fortress is non-existent. But anyway, trying to prove stupid humans (compared to engines) wrong is total waste of time so please continue believing in imaginary fortresses, NLOs, monster from Loch Ness, Santa or whichever thing empowers you, but don't expect anyone wasting time trying to prove you wrong...

see the bold gxf5 above, that move loses but exf5 instead of gxf5 can hold and maintain the fortress.

I don't exactly know how engine works, but do you? You do understand that engines can claim a mate at shallow depth and then later change its mind and replaces the -128.0 or other mate score to something lower like -45.0 or other values at a higher depth once it saw a refutation against the mate down the line? How about we don't resort to name calling and post the winning line of the position after exf5 for the sake of argument?

Already pointed out by one programmer here at talkchess with regards to shirov Bh3!! topic where Stockfish even claimed +28.0 but was a drawn line. So yes, you can also believe on your almighty perfectly flawless chess engines if you like.

I didn't study the above line to prove you're wrong, I just happen to analyze the game and variation you've posted because I want to learn how to break fortresses on my own game.
