Hi Mathias,

This is brilliant, thank you. Will now download it and test it.

- it appears it's been all about testsuites.

Hi Matthias,

I'm playing around with your ChessGUI, and it looks interesting. But I'm completely confused about how it uses opening books, and the Help files still leave me confused. What's the difference between a remis book and a main book? And can ChessGUI use other book formats like the Arena abk books? If so, how do I go about installing the other books? Help from anyone would be greatly appreciated!

- a remis book offers equal chances for both engines.
- a main GUI book favours the engine using it.
- a private GUI book is generated by user and favours the engine using it.
- ChessGUI supports only its own book formats.
- engines can use their own books.

My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

Matthias,
I was able to load the larger remis book by Harry Schnapp, it's working just fine! I'm having lots of fun playing with the program. Thanks for a nice GUI! :D

Congratulations !

Not everybody succeeds in installing engines and setting up a ChessGUI tournament.
Things don't work the same way as in other GUIs. ChessGUI doesn't seem to be reverse engineered work.
I encourage people, who have installed more than 100 engines, to run an Infinite Swiss Tournament at least twice and see a surprise.

Hi Matthias - I'm assuming that making one's own ChessGUI book is quite a straightforward task?

Cheers,
Graham.

Yes. In worst case, it just takes longer.
You choose "create new book" only for first pgn file and "Last Pgn" only for last.
See Readme.txt also.

The games in pgn file are expected to have result tags (1-0, 0-1, 1/2-1/2).
